On February 18, 2015 the MitiMeth team made its way from Ibadan to Lagos to meet up with our partners, ENACTUS – University of Lagos and our Makoko trainees from July 2014. The purpose of the trip was to conduct follow-up training and assess the progress made to date in making water hyacinth handicrafts. We were welcomed back to Makoko with open arms at the Baale’s palace and it was great to see the progress that had been made since the initial training 6 months ago. Our focus was on perfecting the finishing of a few small water hyacinth handicrafts. Our trainees did WELL. The first set of products would be rolling off the Makoko weaving line in 3 weeks.
